ed note: before you read the letter, i want to link to a petition that someone started at change.org. many people seem to be coming here from other sources, and since they do not follow the blog, they don't know where to find it. also, i wrote on another post that i would like this letter to be used as you see fit- as a template for your own letter, as a jumping-off point for discussions/letters to the editor/local debates/anything else you can think of to get people talking about these issues.

What a society we live in where people can’t grow plants and food.
awful isn’t it i honestly had no idea and was so shocked that such a basic right had been taken away
hopefully if enough people sign the petition then something may get done about all we can do is stand together as one collective voice and make them hear us glad to hear from you hope life is treating you well thank you for dropping by xx

i felt compelled; i was so horrified at reading this i was lost for words, i honestly had no idea that such a basic right had been taken away, i had to share in the vague hope of getting enough people to care, enough voices to speak up, i really hope something good comes out of this, not least the return of such basic rights, glad to have met you and you have my full respect and support in any way i can xx
