Book reviews

this is my first review of a book and i am sure this is something i shall improve at as i go along but lets see 🙂 ok this takes you to the first book i have chosen to review

i chose this book because being an eager/impatient wee soul i had to go out there and get started i didn’t want to wait for people to hurry up and find me 🙂 i will probably choose others in the future but the same rule applies it must have very few or no ratings,

so i enjoyed reading this book,  even though it is not normally something i would pick which shows it had something to it because if it is rubbish then i give up fairly quickly but i read this all the way through, it takes you into the lives of two people and their family living deep in rainforest and it is a good little story its a free ebook which is good and a good introduction to the authors work, i would have liked more detail of their day to day lives but it does touch on main points like the effect of the trees, which are their home, being chopped down. i gave it four stars at smashwords.

this book is a must for anyone who thinks they may have depression but not recognise the symptoms, also a good read for those who are diagnosed or living with depression, giving a useful and informative insight to what it is like for a person living with depression in this society, going through the many trials and problems associated, with the detail that is necessary, to give the fuller picture as to how a person suffers and tries to live their life. recommended read. I gave this 5 stars at smashwords.

great little collection of thoughts i enjoyed reading this, some entertaining some insightful and i particularly enjoyed the ghosty bit. looking forward to reading more from this author, this was a good introduction to his work. recommended read.

night poems by ben ditmars

i am not usually a fan of poetry and this was the first time i had ever bought a book of it, that being said i was pleasantly surprised how much i enjoyed this book,i read it through quite quickly at first but then i found some of them kind of lingered in my mind and i went back and read it again and this book is one i think i will keep near me to read again and again i loved the way it was set out and the way it took you along as you read each one, i would definitely recommend this book not just to those who like poetry but to others as well this has now become one of my favorite books and dare i say it it has encouraged me to look at more poetry now that is an achievement!

Robert Zimmerman From where I stand

i have just finished this and given i am not a big fan of poetry i did read this all the way to the end. it is a gritty and realistic life expressed through poetry and often it gets quite harsh in its realism, you get a real view into the authors mind with this book and i would recommend to all, it is book that can appeal to all types and i would class it as adult poetry. i would like to see more by this author especially if he wrote some fictional short stories. i rate this book five stars for its realism and expression of emotion.

An enjoyable little book bringing together an odd group of characters, it is an interesting read and did keep me entertained to the end, which is also good and I am very fussy about endings. I would recommend this to all readers and rated it a well deserved four stars.

i have just sat and read these stories with my youngest daughter. She is six years and enjoyed hearing the stories from the critters and the stories from the fairies, the length of these stories is just right to have one or two at bedtime, though  my daughter enjoyed them so much it turned into three or four!, i would recommend these as a great introduction to any child getting a tablet for christmas or birthday and a brilliant way to help them discover the world of online reading. i gave this a rating of four stars.

this story was quite short, i expected it to be longer for the price but it was entertaining, i did find it a bit worrying having a severely disabled child myself i found it unsettling when one of the main characters had severe mental challenges due to an earlier accident and to be honest i am still unsure what happened at the end i don’t want to give any spoilers but i would rate this as a three star, the storyline was ok and the ending was ok i am very harsh about endings i even slated stephen king!so to rate this as ok is in fact a compliment of sorts. i would recommend this story for those who like drama/action
